Word Scrambler
Scramble and shuffle letters within each word while keeping the first and last letters in place. Based on the Cambridge reading study.
How to Use Word Scrambler
The Word Scrambler shuffles the internal letters of each word while preserving the first and last characters. This is based on the famous Cambridge University reading study that showed people can still read text when only the middle letters are scrambled. Enter any text and click Scramble to see the effect. Each click produces a different random arrangement. Great for creating reading challenges, demonstrating the Cambridge effect, or generating scrambled text for puzzles and games.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Enter or paste the text you want to scramble
- Click Scramble Words to shuffle middle letters
- View the scrambled text (first and last letters preserved)
- Copy the result or click again for a different scramble
