Atbash Cipher
Encrypt and decrypt text using the Atbash cipher, a reverse alphabet substitution where A becomes Z, B becomes Y, and so on.
How to Use Atbash Cipher
The Atbash Cipher tool encrypts and decrypts text using the ancient Atbash substitution cipher. In this cipher, the alphabet is reversed: A maps to Z, B maps to Y, C maps to X, and so on. Since the cipher is its own inverse, applying it twice returns the original text. Simply enter your plaintext or ciphertext and click the button to transform it. Non-alphabetic characters (numbers, spaces, punctuation) are preserved unchanged. This tool is great for learning about classical cryptography, creating simple puzzles, or encoding messages for fun.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Enter the text you want to encrypt or decrypt
- Click Apply Atbash Cipher
- View the transformed text with reversed alphabet substitution
- Copy the result using the copy button
